Just Checking- Dring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another new challenge and its called;

Just Checking!

All we're asking this week is that you use some kind of check pattern on your cards. It could be stamped, embossed, patterned paper, stencilled, hand-drawn...

You could use checks as a background or as part of a design element of an image e.g. on a Chef's apron or tartan rug...

I've been clearing out recently and came across this Penny Black stamp set I've had in my stash for ages. So I thought it would be best to use it for this challenge as I have my nephews birthday coming up soon. I stamped and coloured the images using my alcohol markers and then mounted it onto a soft checked background paper. I had forgotten how cute these characters are and it's perfect for a little boy.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com

Up the Flag Pole! -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good morning and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another new Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is set by DT member Kathy and its called:

Up the Flag Pole!

There are some wonderful flag designs to be found when you start looking, some simple and elegant others quite bright and colourful.

So this week we would like you to get your inspiration from the flag of a country other than your own - there are plenty to choose from!

You can use a design element from the flag, the layout, the colours...

This web-link has a huge number of flags from all sorts of interesting places which will give you loads of ideas: https://flagpedia.net/index

Don't forget to tell us which country's flag you've used!

I was inspired by the flag of Seychelles and using patterned papers I went about creating the the sunburst design. I adhered each piece to my card base. I then used a fine liner pen to create faux stitches around each of the cut pieces. Then I decided to add fine strips of black card between each patterned piece. To finish it off I added the word smile.

June Elemental Inspirational Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Its the first Friday of the month, which means its the June Elemental Inspirational challenge. This month its my turn to set the mood board and I wanted it to be bright, summery and of inspirational elements. To join in all your need to do is to choose 3 elements for your card. Remember colours count as one element.

For my card I chose colours, hot air balloons, clouds and words. I created my card using some bright coloured patterned papers. I then added a hot air balloon and clouds to the centre which I mounted on a contrasting coloured square.

To finish it off I added the word Hello to my card. A clean and simple card this week but I'm glad I've managed to fit it in as it's been a really busy week.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
