Big Celebrations - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is all about Big Celebrations set by DT member Miri.
Its been really hard whilst being in lock down to celebrate any big occasions without friends and family. Last month it was my nieces 18th birthday, but there was no big family get together or birthday party at Grandma's.
This week we also celebrated Eid and yet again a very different one indeed. I found this really emotional as we always celebrate with my mum and dad and all my siblings. So there was a lot of video calling and sharing pictures.

So I had created this card for my niece and I'm hoping we will be able to see her soon so I can give her all her gifts and cards we have for her. I created the background using distress oxides and an Aallandcreate stencil. Once dried I stamped the word square by IndigoBlu using VersaClaire black ink. I cut die some numbers in different sizes in black and in white glitter card. I adhered the large black numbers just under the glitter card numbers to create a shadow before gluing them down. Then I mat and layered on to black card and adhered the final piece to my main card.

Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the blog or our facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
I hope you like my take on this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

Thank you so much for stopping by I wish you all a very happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com

Birds of a feather- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is set by DT member Nat and she would like to see lots of  birds on your cards this week.

I love using birds on my projects especially owls. So when I came across this old collection from Kanban whilst rearranging some craft boxes I knew it would be perfect for this challenge. I love the owls in this set they are so cute and colourful, great for a quick card. I decoupaged one of the toppers which gave the owl a 3D effect. I then mat and layered onto some coordinating patterned card -stock and added a pre-cut ribbon strip just underneath the main topper. To finish it off I added a sentiment with foam pads.

I hope you like my take on this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

International Family Day- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This week's challenge is set by DT member Joanne and it's all about Family as it is International Family Day today.

It's been a hard couple of months not being able to visit family since the lockdown restrictions have been put in place. My family is very close and we have lots of get-togethers which of course is not possible now. I really miss them all and the kids miss going to grandma's and having fun with their uncles and aunts. I missed my sisters too and this card was just perfect to remind them we may be afar but we are still close at heart.

I must have had this Penny Black stamp in my stash for ages and totally forgot about it. Its just recently been found during a clear up and so glad as its perfect for this project. I stamped and coloured my image and doodled a frame around it. I matted it onto an inky background which I had made previously and then layered it onto black card before I added it to the main card. I die-cut a black photo frame to capture the two sisters together. I couldn't find an appropriate sentiment in my stash, so I decided to handwrite one. Who are you missing the most during these times? What does family mean to you? Lets celebrate International Family Day together and create something for a loved one.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to join in the fun.
Thank you so much for stopping by I wish you all a happy weekend with lots of luck.

Inky Backgrounds -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are well and keeping safe. Today I am super excited as it's my turn to set this weeks challenge. I would like you to:

CREATE AN INKY BACKGROUND

I would love to see some inky backgrounds using any medium like paints, inks, sprays, distress inks, distress oxides etc. You can use stencils to add interest. Most of all have fun creating them.

I created my background using oxides and blended three colours on to the card. I then used a stencil and contrasting colours to add some interest. I added some stamped detail too. For the main image I stamped a flower directly onto my card
and again onto some left over scraps. I then fussy cut the flower head and the butterfly and placed it on top. I added some thread just under the main flower head. To finish it off I added some spiderweb ribbon and a sentiment. I hope you like my take on the challenge and look forward to seeing your creations.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I wish you all a happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com

DCM May Elemental Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. It's the first Friday of the month and the Daring Cardmakers have an Elemental challenge set by DT member Dawn. Doesn't this just make you smile? This challenge is full of sunshine.

To join in, all you need to do is choose three elements from the mood board. I chose colours, flowers and a square card. I created a background using two of the colours and a stencil. I then stamped over the background with a flower stamp from AallandCreate by Tracy Evans. I restamped the flower head onto another inked background and fussy cut the flower and placed it on top. I added a ribbbon across thee front of the card and added a sentiment on top of it.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to create something beautiful.
