In The Frame- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I'm back with another Daring Cardmakers challenge and this weeks challenge is set by DT member Nat and its called;

In The Frame.

She would like you to feature a frame on your card to spotlight a sentiment or image, or go the whole hog with a large frame that showcases your entire card design.

 I have really enjoyed colouring on Kraft card lately and pretty pleased with the results. I stamped a floral image on kraft card and used colouring pencils to colour the image. I then mounted it onto some orange card then attached it to my main card. I die cut a few different sized circle frames, using some co-ordinating colours. I then layered them onto each other, gluing them together at one point, which created a nice frame for my flower.

Here's a close up of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge.Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog;

Think of A Number-Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good Morning and happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is called ;

Think of a Number

This weeks challenge is set by DT member Kathy, she would like you to make one or more numerals the stars of your card in some way this time. It could be for one of those 'special number' birthdays or anniversaries. Using a background formed from numbers or perhaps you could even make a number shaped card.

I decided to create a birthday card for my neice who turns 20 next month. I die cut a square shape out of a black piece of card and then die cut some numbers into the  top half. This would give me some random number shapes within the card a bit like waste. I then die cut the number 20 at the bottom and adhered a small piece of pink glitter card at the back of it to make the numbers stand out a bit. I mounted the square piece of card onto my main card using foam tape and adding in any extra bits for some of the numerals. I wanted to add a cute and quirky character to my card and decided the toucan from Janet Kleins Strange Birds stamp set was perfect. I stamped and coloured the toucan using Ohuhu brush pens and then fussy cut it out. So then I wanted my bird to sit on a branch and decided to use one of the flower stems from Janet Kleins Trois Fleurs stamp set and added a few extra hand drawn leaves. Now the colouring was done and my bird was sitting nicely on a branch I adhered it to my main card. To finish it off I added a sentiment from the Rise Up stamp set also designed by Janet for Aall and Create.

Here is a close up of the card.

UP UP AND AWAY- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I'm back with another Daring Cardmakers challenge and this weeks challenge is called;

UP UP AND AWAY

So for this weeks challenge we would like to see balloons on your cards. They can be hot air balloons or party balloons. It could be one big ballon or lots of little ones!

For my card I am using the 'Some Bunny' stamp set by Cas-ual- Fridays. I've had this set for a couple of years and had forgotten about it. Well I say forgotten it was buried under lots of other crafts. So was glad I found it as its perfect for this challenge. I created my ballon by simply die cutting a circle and adding some twine. I stamped the cute little bunny without its orginal balloon and coloured him in using Ohuhu markers. I also used one of the tiny hearts to create a subtle background and added some stickles to each one. To finish it off I added a sentiment from the same set.

January Elemental Inspirational Challenge 2022- Daring Cardmakers

      Hello and Happy New Year!

Welcome back to my blog for the very first challenge of the year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and I wish you all the best for the year ahead.

Its the January Elemental Inspiration Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog and this month's mood board is set by DT member Shabneez. All you have to do is choose any three elements from the moodboard for your cards. Remember colours count as one element. The mood board is full of warm and wintry images and is just perfect for this time of year. There's lots to choose from and I hope you will enjoy joining in.

So for my card I chose colours, foliage and a bird. I started off by creating a background using distress oxides (vintage photo and tea dye). I layered the ink onto a cream piece of card using a brayer, this gave it a patchy effect. I added some handmade copper paper and some die cut flag tails. I inked a small doily with some tea dye ink and placed that on top of the flag tail. I then added some images from Fox and Found Printables which really went well with this challenge. To finish it off I added some foliage, a button and a robin. Gold Pebeo gilding wax was used to add some shimmer and interest.
