Whatever the Weather- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good morning and happy Friday!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. Today I'm back with another new challenge.  This weeks challenge is set by DT member Svenja and its called;

Whatever the Weather

Get out your wellies, umbrellas, snowflakes, rainbows and parasols and make a weather-themed card!

Well hasn't the weather been interesting lately with fog, storms, rain, sleet and snow. We are expecting more snow in the coming days and I'm rather looking forward to it.

For my card this week I wanted to create a rainbow using some circle dies which turned out just as I had planned. I then created a cloudy background using a Time for Tea stencil and Salty Ocean Oxide. I then attached my rainbow to the cloudy background and added a cloud punched shape to either end. I coloured and die cut a cute little unicorn stamp also by Time for Tea and placed it onto my rainbow. I created my sentiment on the computer and added that my card along with some sequins to finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

You're So Square- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another new Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is set by DT member Shabneez and its called:

YOU'RE SO SQUARE!

So the challenge is to use squares on your card - the more the better! You can use a square card base, apertures, stamps or stencils. Show us how you would use squares creatively!

I decided to take out some of my Aallandcreate stamps which I hadn't used in a while. This stamp set is designed by Olga Heldwein and is called Just Grow #270. I stamped one of the flower stamps onto a piece of card. I then randomly stamped some distress oxides (Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint and Seedless Preserve) onto a stencil and sprayed it with some water. I placed the stencil on top of my stamped floral image and pressed it using a kitchen paper towel. This gave me a quick coloured background which I then mounted onto some black card. I stamped the same image again and used a square die to cut out a smaller area with the main flower head. This too I mounted onto some black card and added foam pads, to make it stand out a little. The square was then placed onto the main background carefully matching the stamped image. This gives the smaller square a spotlight effect as it stands out without any colour. I then added a sentiment from the Simple Said Blocks by Uniko.

Here is a close up.

Bagel Day- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another new Daring Cardmakers Challenge. Its National Bagel Day in the USA and DT member Nat is challenging us to celebrate that round food by featuring a circle, circle frame or a circle aperture as your main focal point on your card. You could add a bagel or a doughnut if you have them in your stash.

So to celebrate I decided to create a card with a doughnut. I used some circle dies to cut two in the shape of a doughnut one out of kraft card and one out of white glitter card. I curved the edges of the white glitter card using scissors so it looked like icing on top of the doughnut.

I then used some bright coloured alcohol markers to add the colourful sprinkles. I added some patterned paper to my base card and then mounted the doughnut onto it using foam pads. I then hand wrote the sentiment and added it to the centre of the doughnut.

January Elemental Inspiration Challenge - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and Happy New Year!

Welcome back to my blog for the very first challenge of the year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and I wish you all the best for the year ahead.

Its the January Elemental Inspiration Challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers blog and this months mood board is set by DT member Dawn. All you have to do is choose any three elements for your cards. Remember colours count as one element. The mood board is full of warm and wintry images and is just perfect for this time of year. There's lots to choose from and I hope you will enjoy joining in.

I chose snowflakes, woodgrain, words and colours for my card. I have created a clean and simple card for my project. I started off by layering a woodgrain background onto my base card. I then die cut some snowflakes out of white glitter card and arranged them onto the patterned paper and then added a sentiment. To finish it off I tied an organza ribbon to my card.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
