You're Mermazing! -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to another Daring Cardmakers challenge. This weeks challenge is set by Jenny and its called:

YOU'RE MERMAZING!

Jenny says, "May is a month to celebrate mermaids with artists and crafters sharing their projects using the hashtag #MerMay.  I'd love to see your mermaid inspired cards."

Mermaids are mythical creatures of the sea and I've always been fascinated by all the stories I use to read as a kid. So I was really excited when I found my Julie Nutting Mermaid doll stamp, perfect for this challenge. I stamped out my image and coloured it with my alcohol markers and sparkle pens. I then fussy cut the mermaid and placed her onto some patterned paper and adhered her to it. I also fussy cut some shells and arranged them onto the base of the card. I then added some mini wooden sea embellishments.

Then I created a small shaker element out of the plastic circle left at the end of your double-sided tape. I wrapped some washi tape around it and then glued that to some patterned paper. Once it was dry I cut around it and  added some sequins inside, then covered the top with acetate. Its a good way to recycle the inner plastic circles and to use them in your projects. I then typed out my sentiment and added that to my card and finished it off by adding an anchor charm to the shaker circle.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge.

Tropical Paradise- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another Daring Carmakers Challenge. Its my turn to set this weeks challenge and I've decided to go all tropical. I'm hoping it'll bring some warmer weather.

 Tropical Paradise.

So for this weeks challenge I would like you to create a tropical card with your favourite tropical animal or bird. Lets see some vibrant colours and some tropical plants too.

I have created a book card to showcase a tropical scene. For the book pages I cut four pieces of 5x5 and scored all four at every 1/2 inch and then folded all the scored lines. Then taking two of the pieces I slot both ends into each other, through all of the folded sections and glued the flaps at each end.

I did the same with the other two pieces and created a square frame. I then created the book cover and added patterned paper on the front and on the inside. I adhered the frame on the inside of the cover and added cut out leaves and some of the animal toppers within the book frame to create a tropical scene.

I also created a pocket on the other inside book cover and added two tags. For the front of the card I created a little shaker element using one of the frames from the collection. To finish it off I added the sentiments.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

May Elemental Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Its the first Friday of the month, which means its the May Elemental Inspiration challenge. This months mood board is full of inspirational elements. To join in all your need to do is to choose 3 elements for your card. Remember colours count as one element.

For my card chose colours, bees, hearts and words. I started off by creating my background using distress oxides and some Aallandcreate stencils. Then I stamped one of Aallandcreate stamps (Be Beautiful) by Janet Klein. I coloured the girl image in with some alcohol markers and then fussy cut her and the bees. I die cut some of the elements from The MissP loves boundless journal dies. I placed the girl behind the frame and added the other elements onto my card. I added one of the flowers from the set and then placed my bees around the frame. To finish it off I added the sentiment and some sparkle using a sparkle pen.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
