SHINING LIGHTS- DARING CARDMAKERS GUEST DESIGNER

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

There's something magical about Christmas lights, I just love all the beautiful displays you see in department stores and in peoples houses. All of the twinkling lights on trees and around other decorations really gets you ready for the festive season. This week on the Daring Cardmakers blog the theme is also about Shining Lights and today I am sharing my take on the Challenge.

I decided to create some festive candles using some recycled materials. The main candles are made from kitchen foil/clingfilm tubes and the base is cut out from a cardboard box.

I cut the tubes to different lengths and covered them with patterned paper. I then
arranged them onto the base, which I also covered with patterned paper and decorated with some ribbon and a decorative trim.

To give the candles a realistic feel, I cut some circles to fit the tops of the tubes and threaded some string through each. I then melted some candle wax and poured some on each one and there you have it one festive candle arrangement.
If you decide to give this a try do share your makes with us. Also please be aware these are made purely for decorative purposes and should never be used to light. I used a string of white fairy lights the battery operated ones and wrapped them around the base of the candles.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to join in the fun.

Natural,Gold and White -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and Welcome to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

This weeks challenge is a colour theme;

                                NATURAL,GOLD AND WHITE

You can create any type craft project of your choice using the above colours.
Have you created any Christmas cards yet? Or maybe you're thinking of making your own gifts this year. I think this weeks challenge is great for a contemporary
look in any project. I decided to create my Christmas cards using this colour scheme.

I die cut a snowflake out of natural and gold glitter card. Then placed the gold die cut snowflake into the negative cut out of the natural card-stock, finished off with a white ribbon and sentiment. This was quick and easy and you can batch make and have your Christmas cards ready in no time.
I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to join in the fun.

Christmas Songs and Carols- Daring Cardmakers Guest Designer

Hello and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog I hope you are keeping yourself warm in this cold and windy weather. My highlight of the week was the Hobbycraft meet up in Stockport, where we get together once a month to finish off any of our crafty projects. Its a lovely little group of creatives with some amazing talents.

I am back with another Daring Cardmakers Challenge as a Guest Designer. This weeks challenge is to make a card, with a Christmas song or carol for your inspiration.
I have always loved this time of year with the children practicing their roles in the Christmas plays and all the songs they learn. One of my favourite songs is "Walking in a winter wonderland" which has inspired me to create a card with a snowy glittery scene.

I used a Studio Light stamp which was perfect for this project. I stamped the image onto an inky background with embossing powder added some embellishments and a snowflake border.
I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to join in the fun.

Baubles and Bows - Daring Cardmakers Guest Designer

Hello and welcome back to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is all about Baubles and Bows. I love Christmas decorations with all the sparkly glitter, tinsel and lights; they do create a magical feel.

I decided to create a bauble using an embroidery hoop. I first painted the hoop using white and copper coloured paints and added a snowy acetate sheet around the edges with hot glue. I filled the middle with some fake snow and a fir tree before placing the second acetate sheet on top. To give it a decorative feel I attached white iridescent pearls around the edge of the frame and finished it off with some die cuts and a bow.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to join in the fun. It can be anything you like as long as it includes baubles and bows.

DCM November Elemental Challenge

Hello and Happy November!

Wow I'm back on my blog after a long break. I'm hoping to make more of effort to blog even if it is once a week.

I have some exciting news to share with you all today, I am thrilled to announce that I have been asked to join the Daring Cardmakers as a Guest Designer!
Their weekly challenges are super fun and anyone is welcome to join in.

Today I'm sharing my very first take on the DCM November Elemental Challenge; I chose a snowy scene, an animal and a winter sentiment.
I created the snowy scene using stamps from Card-io (Mini Tall Trees and Dear Deer),versa color inks and the word die is from Tonic.

You can choose any 3 elements from the picture to make your card and it doesn't have to be Christmas-related.
Hope you can join in the fun and share your makes over on the Daring Cardmakers blog, we would love to see your take on it!

Thanks for stopping by and please check out the lovely creations from the design team over on the DCM blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com
Have a lovely weekend!
