SAY IT LOUD- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good morning and happy Friday!

Welcome back for another new challenge and this weeks challenge is set by DT member Nat. She would like you to focus on wordsThe sentiment for your card needs to be the star of the show and feature prominently as the main element. So this weeks challenge is called;

                                                SAY IT LOUD

It can be oversized, it can be created with negative die-cutting, it can be a mix of font styles (stamped/die cut). Whatever you choose the sentiment shouldn't be overshadowed by other elements in your design.

I loved this challenge as it shows you can create a quick card where the sentiment is the main focus. I created an inky background using distress oxides and stamped my sentiment directly on top. I added some star stickers I found in my stash and there you have it a quick card with a sentiment being the star of the show.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com

Spring Things - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Good morning and happy Friday!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. Today I'm back with another new challenge.  This weeks challenge is set by Kathy and is called

Spring Things

We would love to see your cards filled with anything Spring related:
baby animals, daffodils and tulips, seasonal celebrations -blossom, warmer temperatures (or cooler if you're 'down under') or other Spring weather!
Or think a little out of the box and feature things with springs like a jack in the box, or make a card with a hidden spring mechanism.

You know spring is definitely here when you can see all the daffodils, snowdrops and crocuses in full bloom. I've seen them on my daily walks to the park along with new buds and leaves on trees. I love spring and summer and can't wait to go out on a family picnic when things get better.

So for my card I decided to create a spring Easter card. I stamped the cute bunny from the 'Some Bunny' stamp set by Uniko. I coloured the image using alcohol markers and then die cut it to mount onto my card. For my base card I adhered some patterned papers and then added the die cut circles on top. I stamped and placed some sentiments from the same stamp set and placed them onto one of the die cut circles. To finish it off I added some ribbon and some sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook

Plant A Flower- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and happy Friday!

Welcome back for another new challenge and today we are celebrating

 "Plant a Flower Day"

so to honour this we would love to see projects featuring your favourite flowers.

For my card I have used one of my favourite flowers the Hydrangea. I stamped the flower onto some old dictionary paper and coloured them in using water colours.  I then fussy cut them and added some sparkle with my sparkle  pen.

I stamped a script stamp onto the background of my base card and then added some spider net. Then I added my hydrangeas on top of the spider net using foam pads and adhered the sentiment just below the flowers. To finish it off I added some gems to some of the inner petals and didn't have enough to put on each centre so that means I need to do some craft shopping.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook

March Elemental Inspiration Challenge-DCM

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Its the first Friday of the month, which means its the March Elemental Inspiration challenge. This months mood board is full of inspirational elements. To join in all your need to do is to choose 3 elements for your card. Remember colours count as one element. Other ideas include birds, clocks, flowers, butterflies, cups, buttons and thread. There's lots to choose from and I hope you'll join in the fun.

For my card I chose birds, flowers, colours and string. I am using First Edition Paper Flowers paper pad. This pad has some lovely colours and is full of florals, butterflies and birds, perfect for my project. I cut down one of the sheets with birds along with a few other patterned papers and gave them a distressed look by using a pair of scissors.  I layered the distressed papers onto my base card and added a chipboard heart with some string. I then added the birds to the centre of the heart and added a sentiment to finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook
