Tags, Toppers and Labels - Daring Cardmakers Challenge Countdown to Christmas 7

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

This week marks the last challenge in our countdown to Christmas. I hope you enjoyed all the DT inspiration during our countdown and a big thank you to all of you who joined in. Our final theme for this year is

Tags, Toppers and Labels.

We would love to see your gift tags, toppers or labels you have created to adorn your presents. They can be as simple or as detailed as you like.

I love creating tags for my gifts as it just gives them that extra special touch. I created my tag using a tag die. I then added some patterned papers in the background. I then die cut a circle out of another sheet of patterned paper and a snowflake out of glitter card. I glued the snowflake to the circle and the adhered that to my gift tag cutting away any access overhang.

I then cut a few banners and placed them across the middle and added a sentiment to one of them. To finish it off I threaded my ribbon through the top of the tag and added a few bells to give it that extra bit of jingle.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and are inspired to join in the fun. I would just like to say a big thank you to all you wonderful people who took part in our challenges throughout the year. We'll be back with a fabulous Elemental Inspiration Picture to kick-start a Crafty New Year for you on Friday January 8th, so please make a note in your diary and we'll hope to see you then. This week's challenge will remain open until then. In the meantime I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Animal Antics- Daring Cardmakers Challenge Countdown to Christmas 6

 Good morning and happy Friday.

I’m back with another Daring Cardmakers challenge and this weeks challenge is called:

Animal Antics at Christmas

So we would like you to create a card with anything you'd like as long as it features a creature or two!

Reindeer, penguins, polar bears, festive robins, puppies, kittens or owls.

I came across this cute owl by Hobby Art in my stash and thought it was perfect for this challenge. I stamped the owl in black and used alcohol markers to colour the image. I left the fluffy white areas of the hat white and added stickles for sparkle. I die cut the image and then mounted it onto my base card which I matted and layered with pattern papers. Finally I added my sentiment and there you have it, one cute owl all dressed up warm with his cosy hat and scarf.

I hope you have been enjoying our countdown to Christmas so far and have been inspired by all the DT projects.

December Elemental Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Its the first Friday of the month and I'm back with the December Elemental Inspiration Challenge. This months mood board is full of inspirational elements to choose from. All you need to do to take part is to choose three elements from the mood board. The colour palette counts as one element, and other ideas are Squares, Layout, Advent, Grid, Numbers and all the little pictorials.

I have chosen trees, houses, snowflakes and colours for my card. I stamped my main image from a Polkadoodles stamp set (Christmas Scene). The stamped image was then coloured with alcohol markers and mounted onto red cardstock. I created a snowflake background on a separate piece of card and mounted that to my main card base. I added the Christmas scene on top of the background using foam tape. You can see the word Christmas just behind the houses so to finish it off I added the word 'Wishes' from the Heartfelt Joy stamp set. I also used stickles over the trees and the words to add sparkle. I think all Christmas cards need that extra bit of sparkle to make them more Christmassy.

I hope you have been enjoying our countdown to Christmas so far and have been inspired by all the DT projects.
