Fairy Tale Day- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Welcome back to my blog for another Daring Carmakers Challenge. Its my turn to set this weeks challenge and as its

National Tell A Fairy Tale Day

I would like you to create a card inspired by your favourite Fairy Tale or fairy-tale characters. So take out your fairies, princesses, knights, goblins, witches, elves, trolls, dragons, giants and talking animals. It could be one of the ones you loved as a child like: Cinderella, Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid or Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

As a child I always loved reading stories about fairies, pixies, princesses being recused and all the happily ever afters. As there were to many to choose from I decided to create a card with a princess. I stamped a Polkadoodles Ula be a Princess stamp onto smooth cream card stock. I used alcohol markers to colour my image. I die cut some frames and layered them onto another patterned background. To finish it off I added a sentiment and some flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. I can't wait to see what you create for this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

Kiss Kiss -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

This weeks challenge has been set by DT member Joanne and its called

Kiss Kiss

So, the challenge is to make a card with a kiss this week - it could be an image of characters kissing, some luscious lips or perhaps you’ll use a kissing technique with your rubber stamps. For extra brownie points K.I.S.S and make your card clean and simple!

For my card I stamped the word kisses with Momento inks. I used two shades of pink one light and one slightly darker. I then layered my stamped piece onto some red card and then adhered that to my base card. I die cut some lips from red glitter card and then placed them randomly onto my stamped piece. To finish it off I die cut the word love and glued that onto my base card. There you go a clean and simple card!

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

Share the Love- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good morning and happy Friday!

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. Today I'm back with another new challenge.  This weeks challenge is set by DT member Dawn and its called;

Share the Love

Its doesn't have to be just for valentines. Think of an occasion when someone needs a little love, a hug or even just a card to show you care. Things are hard at the moment so sending a card just because you care is so needed and will be appreciated.

So for my card I used a heart die by Studio Light. I decided to do some paper piecing and cut some patterned papers multiple times. I cut the main die out of white card and glued that to a red piece of card. Then used the patterned papers to fill in all the waste areas. I then adhered the red card onto my base card and added some sequins. I stamped the word love from the Simple Said Blocks by Uniko.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

February Elemental Inspiration Challenge.

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

Its the February Elemental Inspiration Challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers blog and this months mood board is set by DT member Joanne . All you have to do is choose any three elements for your cards from this weeks picture. Remember colours count as one element. Ideas might include violets, ferns, amethyst, twine, ribbon, pins, pen nibs, lace, books, book text, Edwardian lady or gent, garden tools, hats, shells, script sentiment. There's lots to choose from and I hope you will enjoy joining in.

I chose book text, lace, a pen nib, twine, flowers and a sentiment. I decided to use kraft card for my base as it seemed to tie in well with the colours in the picture. I tore a strip of book text paper and glued that to my card. I added a length of lace on top so you could still see the book text showing through. Then I wrapped some twine around my card making sure it was going over the lace. I had a tag in my stash with the word hello and thought it was perfect to add to this project. I adhered some purple flowers to the the tag and a sequin in the middle of each one. I then added a pen nib to the tag and adhered it just under the twine. To finish it off I glued a few sequins in the background. I then mounted the kraft onto a cream coloured piece of card and then adhered that to the main kraft card base.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
