Word Play - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Hello and happy Friday!

Welcome back to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is called:

                                                        Word Play

It's hosted by Joanne and she says, " As we wave farewell to February, let’s use the month for inspiration in a different way. Make a FEB card! Use something beginning with each of those letters in your creation.
So it might be a foiled elephant juggling a ball, a blue fairy with an embossed background, a baby card with flags and embroidery thread…
what can you come up with that’s FEB?
Don’t forget to tell us which items you’ve used in case we don’t spot them!

I used flowers, an elephant, buttons and bunting for my card. After die cutting various layers and elements I began layering each one on to my card. I used Oh So Sweet papers by Trimcraft which has a pastel palette. I loved how this turned out with subtle colours.

(Flowers, Elephant, Buttons, Bunting (and Baby card!)

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge.Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

In the Nick of Time! -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

It's my turn to host this weeks challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog. I have decided to do a time themed challenge and it's called:

In the Nick of Time!

Time is of the essence! Use clocks or anything to represent time on your card, including watches, hourglasses, sundials or pocket watches. I'm sure you can think of other time related things and of course you could also use clock works and cogs.

For my card I used some patterned paper from a collection I had in my stash. Lots of die cutting and fussing cutting of clocks, cogs and ephemera. I then went about arranging all the pieces onto my card and took a photograph when I was happy with my design layout. This made it easier to glue all the pieces into place and add any extras like the cogs and the pocket watch charm. Once everything was in place I added a sentiment and some sparkle.

My Sweet Valentine- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Have you created your valentines card yet? Well not to worry this weeks challenge is all about creating your valentines day card which is set by DT member Dawn and its called;

                                                My Sweet Valentine

Valentines day is nearly here so I would like you to show me the love and share your Valentines makes.  Make sure your cards feature lots of shades of red and pink and of course love hearts.

For my card I have used papers from ABStudios. I chose two papers to create the background and used the left over sheets to punch some hearts using Fiskars punches. I then die cut a stitched tag and threaded some ribbon through the top. The hearts were then arranged onto the tag and glued in place. The tag was then mounted onto the card base with foam pads. To finish it off I added a sentiment and some sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge.Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

February Elemental Inspirational Challenge- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Its the first Friday of the month and its time for another Elemental Inspiration Challenge. This months mood board is set by DT member Enfys and its full of inspirational elements.

She says, "I've chosen a leafy mood-board with cool greens and aquas, warmed up with pink red and yellow.  But its not just about colours, check out all the little details on the image and you're sure to find the minimum 3 elements you need to use when you make your card. As usual if you use the colour combo it counts as 1 element."

I chose colours, circles, leaves, flowers and words for my card. I used papers from the Finding Paradise collection by Craft Label. These papers were perfect for this challenge as they fit the colour palette and some of the elements found in the mood board. After choosing my papers I decided to mount each one onto some white copier paper. I did this to break up the busy look of the papers and to make them stand out individually. Also by using copier paper it creates less bulk and ideal when posting as card can add more weight. I die cut two co-ordinating coloured circles and adhered them onto my card. I then fussy cut some leaves and the a parrot and glued them in place onto the circles and finishing off by adding the word Hello using  glitter alphabet stickers.

Here is a close of my card. I hope you enjoyed my take on this weeks challenge. Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.
