Take A Flying Leap- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and Happy Friday!

Today I'm back with another new Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks host is Svenja and the challenge is called ;

Take A Flying Leap

As you know 2020 is a leap year, so to celebrate this extra day, show us some things or people that leap. This could be: frogs, bunnies, squirrels or a sportsman like Bob Beamon.

I decided to create a treat box instead of a card this time. I die-cut the box and decorated it with some patterned papers. I stamped my cute bunny character and coloured it in using some alcohol pens. I then die-cut the image and adhered it to the treat box. I filled the box with the chocolate eggs and tied a ribbon and tag to finish it off.

 I hope my take on this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

Thank you so much for stopping by I wish you all a happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com

All Tied Up- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge.
This week's challenge is set by DT member Kathy Black and it's called ;

 "All Tied Up"

You can use thread wool, fibers, twine, string, etc on your cards.

My card has a monochromatic feel with more natural colours. I used Kraft card as my base and added a mesh. I wrapped some string around my corrugated strip and tied a tag with a sentiment to it.. For the main image I coloured my card with some oxides and stamped a script stamp in the background.

Then I stamped a butterfly using oxide inks and layered it onto the script background with foam pads. To finish it off added some stitched detail to the background and glitter to the butterfly.

 I hope you like my take on this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

Someone or Something you love - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge.
This weeks challenge is to feature-

 Someone or Something you Love.

This could be a person, food, an object, a pet or even your favourite craft product etc.

Anyone who knows me will tell you how much I love butterflies. I have a lot of things with butterflies I just find them so enchanting and beautiful.
 I love this quote;

                                    "Just living isn't enough,"
                                said the butterfly, "One must have
                           sunshine, freedom and a little flower."

 So this card represents my love of the butterfly. I started off by colouring my card with some oxide inks. I then stamped and embossed the butterfly image using black embossing powder which really made the colours pop. I can't believe I haven't used my embossing powders in a long time and still the fascination never ends. I think I'm going to be using my embossing powders more in my creations. This card will be for my younger sister to show my sisterly love as its her birthday this weekend.
 I hope my take on this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

DCM February Elemental Challenge

Hello and welcome back to another Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

This week its the February Elemental Challenge, where you can choose 3 elements from the picture to create your card. I have chosen some colours, flowers, ribbon and hearts to create my card.

I started off by creating a background with paints using my Gel Press and a stencil to create texture. After the paint has dried, I stamped the tulip flowers from the Aall and Create stamp set #272 by Tracy Evans.
Using the same colours I pulled off another print to stamp my flowers and sentiment on. Then fussy cut the flowers and sentiment and placed them on top of the stamped image on the main piece. I added some ribbon before attaching my sentiment (Aall and Create stamp set #282). Then using a fine black pen I doodled some lines around the outer edge to create a framed edge and added some white splatters from a posca pen.
So take a look at the Elemental Inspiration picture below and choose three elements and create your card. Here are some ideas if you are not sure ;
colours from the picture, hearts, flowers, teapot, cactus, biscuits, ribbon, twine and there are a few others I'll leave you to find.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to create something beautiful.
