'S' for September- Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good Morning and happy Friday!

Welcome back for another new Daring Cardmakers challenge. This weeks challenge is set by DT member Kathy its called;

'S' for September.

Kathy would like you to use three things beginning with the letter 'S' on your card. Here are some ideas: stamps, stencils, sunshine, sea, sandals, shark, silver, snowflakes, spots, stripes, stepper card, monogram 'S' or sunflower.

So for my card I have used: squares, strips of patterned paper, silver, stem, smile sentiment and sparkle gems. I cut some patterned papers to create the background and die cut the smile sentiment from silver glitter card. The tall stem was created using a sizzix die set and finished off with some sparkly gems.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to create something beautiful.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I wish you all a happy weekend. Check out all the inspiration from the DT over on the Daring Cardmakers blog https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com

Masculine Makes-Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

 Hello and welcome to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

This weeks challenge is set by DT member Dawn and it's called :

Masculine Makes.

 We all struggle sometimes to create cards for all the men in our lives - dads, brothers, uncles, granddads, husbands, sons and nephews. So this is a great challenge to get a few male cards ready in advance.

I decided to create a card for my dad for this weeks challenge. I created my background using Woodware Stamps called Vintage Pocket Watches. I stamped the pocket watches using Momento dye inks (teal zeal and pear tart). I added the splatter and words from the same stamp set. I then mounted my background onto a plain piece of coloured card and arranged it in an abstract angle onto the card. I die cut the word DAD and using foam pads arranged the letters onto the card. I then added a sentiment to finish it off.

I really hope you enjoyed your visit here today and are inspired to create some masculine themed cards.

Oh Baby -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

 Good morning and happy Friday everyone!

Welcome back to another new challenge this week's challenge is set by DT member Ruth and its called;

Oh Baby!

You can make a card for a New Baby OR for your baby- however old they are!
I'm sharing a card I made for my youngest who had his birthday just at the end of August. His birthday is usually a grand finale of birthdays with August being the busiest with at least two/three birthdays a week. Such a fun month with lots of family get togethers, but sadly not this year.
 My youngest turned 13 this year and starts his teenage journey and I can see  how quickly my baby boy is growing up. No matter how old he gets he'll always be my baby! That goes to my older two too, who also had their birthdays recently and are now 20 and 18. Still my babies 😄.

I created my card using one of Janet Klein's digital stamps from The winter brothers. I coloured the image using alcohol markers and pencils. I created the background using distress oxides (salty ocean, spiced marmalade and wild honey). I lay some colour onto my craft sheet separately and added water with a spray bottle and picked up each colour slightly drying them in between. This gives your background a watercolour effect with some colours blending into each other. Using the same colours I stenciled through some patterns onto the background. I added a die cut in a teal blue colour which was just perfect for this. I added a punched circle with the number 13 and some numbers in the background to add interest. I doodled a stitched border around the card and finally added my cute image to my card.

Here are all three of the cards I created for my boys recently for their birthdays. They are all created in the same way as above, I hope you like them as much as I do.

This has been a really fun challenge and I have really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see all your creations.

I really hope you enjoyed your visit here today and are inspired to create something beautiful.

September Elemental Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog.
Today is the first Friday of the month and this means its the September Elemental Inspiration Challenge. This week its my turn to set my first elemental challenge. As its September I decided to create an autumnal mood-board as I love the colours of autumn. All you have to do is pick three elements from the picture (colours count as one element).

 For my card I chose leaves, wood-grain and colours. I used acrylic paints to colour a piece of card in autumnal colours. Once dry I cut some leaves using some leaf dies by Craftascope. I embossed a piece of white card using a wood-grain embossing folder. I then matted that on a plain red piece of card and adhered that to my base card. I arranged my leaves on top of the base card and glued them down.

I die cut the word thanks and adhered that just below the leaves. To finish it off I added some stickles over each leaf which gave it a subtle shine.

 I've really enjoyed creating my card using elements from the mood board. All you have to do is choose any three elements and create your card.Show us some of your creations and don't forget to share on the Daring Cardmakers blog or our Facebook page Daring Cardmakers Create and Share.

I hope you like my take on the Daring Cardmakers challenge and are inspired to create something beautiful.
