Shake It! -Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Good Morning and welcome back to my blog. Its Friday and we have a new challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers blog. Its my turn to set this weeks challenge and I would love to see your Shaker Projects so I've named it:

SHAKE IT!

For my project I created a shaker tag. I die cut a tag shape and coloured the background using oxide inks and the smooching technique.

I then added some stamping in the background using Aallandcreate stamps by Janet Klein. I used my Fuse Tool to create a sleeve for my tag and added some sequins and used the fuse tool to seal it closed. I then coloured one of the characters by Janet Klein and adhered it on top of the tag. Super cute right? Here are some close ups.

I really hope you enjoyed your visit here today and are inspired to create something beautiful.

Three Musketeers - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Good Morning and Happy Friday!
I'm back with another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is set by DT member Joanne and its called ;

The Three Musketeers.

Its the birthday of the author Alexander Dumas today- The Three Musketeers is probably his most famous work and the Daring Cardmakers challenge is set to show three of something on your cards this week.

Well I have Three Musketeers of my own and I though it would be a great idea to have them featured on my card. I came across one of Janet Klein's digital stamps that really remind me of my three boys. I coloured my images using pencils and alcohol markers.

I then created my background using oxide inks (salty ocean, wilted violet and spiced marmalade). I used the same inks to create interest in the background with some Aall and Create stencils and stamps. I stamped the grass and bird from another Janet Klein stamp set, and doodled the rest of the edges with a fine black pen. Now that my background is complete, I arranged my characters and words onto it. I really enjoyed this challenge and had so much fun creating this card.
I hope you like my take on this week's challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

Accordian File Folder - Scrap Lab DT

Hello everyone Senior Scrap Lab Tech Rizwana here today. I have a lovely project to share with you today. It's an Accordian File Folder which I created to keep all my die cuts and stamped images in so I don't keep losing them when I need them.

I created the base out of plain card and covered it with paper from the Colour of Memories collection. For the accordian I used the matching plain card and also added a plain border at the top of the front and back covers.

I fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves from one of the sheets and added them to the front. Then I attached the pocket pieces and adhered them to the accordian pieces on both sides, adding punched circles for the tabs at the top. To finish it off I attached a length of organza ribbon underneath the base and tied a bow at the top. This will help keep my die cuts in place and stop them from falling out.
Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoyed your visit today.
 Hugs Rizwana xx

Camera Card - Scrap Lab DT

Hello Senior Scrap Lab Tech Rizwana back again to share another fun project with you. Today I'm sharing a card I made in the shape of a camera using my WRM keepers 123 board. I had seen a few cards made like this but they were always small in size, so I decided to create one, out of an A4 sheet of card.

I cut the card in half lengthways and folded it in half. This will give me two cards and less waste. Using the punch board I created the tab at the top of the card to create the shape of a camera. I then decorated the card using papers from the Charming Collection.

I used the epoxy stickers for the viewfinder and buttons. For the lens I cut a couple of circles and added a flair button for the centre and finished it off with one of the sentiments from the same collection. You could add photos in place of the flair button to give it a personal touch.
I hope you enjoyed your visit today, so until next time take care hugs Rizwana xx

Butterfly Card and Eiffel Tower Card - Scrap Lab DT

Hello Senior Scrap Lab Tech Rizwana here. Today I have created two cards using the Charming paper collection.

For the first card I layered some of the pretty papers on to my main card base. Then I created a border with some of the coordinating colours and placed it in the centre of the card. I fussy cut some of the butterflies from one of the papers and a sentiment which I layered on to some mirri card. To finish it off I added some gems to the centres of the butterflies and an epoxy sticker from the collection.

For the second card I created a black card base and then layered some of the papers on top. I created a decorative border using coordinating papers and a border punch. I cut out one of the picture cards from one of the papers to use as a topper. I added some of the die-cut embellishments and attached them on to the main topper with a tiny bulldog clip. I fussy cut one of the butterflies and attached some gems. To finish it off I added some organza ribbon and one of the epoxy stickers.

Well that's it for today folks hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a lovely day hugs Rizwana xx

ATC Holder and ATC's - ScrapLab DT

Hello Senior Lab Tech Rizwana here today. I know I've been a little quiet lately but I'm back and ready to share some lovely projects with you all.
So today I'm showcasing an ATC holder and some ATC's I've created using the Charming Collection. I created the holder from one sheet of 12x12 paper and added some chipboard for the covers to make it sturdy. I also attached a piece of ribbon as a closure before I adhered the front covers. I then created some ATC's for each pocket, which fit the holder perfectly.

This was a really fun project to make and can be a great little gift for someone. You could add little photos to each page and write messages to go inside each pocket too. I hope you enjoyed your visit today and have been inspired to create something beautiful.  Until next time have a lovely day hugs Rizwana xx

Frida Kahlo - Daring Card Makers Challenge

Hello and Happy Friday,

Today I'm back with another Daring Card Makers Challenge which is set by DT member Svenja. The challenge is to create a card either based on Frida Kahlo's life and work or her country of origin, Mexico. Think bold colours, flowers, toucans and sombreros. Sounds fun right?

For my card, I decided to use one of Aall&Create's stamps by Janet Klein (#360 Wish). I just think this cute character can pose as Frida Kahlo on my card with all those lovey flowers in her hair. I cut some patterned papers with bold coloured lines and matted it onto my base card. After that, I cut some flowers co-ordinating in colour and arranged them onto my card. I placed my character onto a die-cut circle and then stamped the grass and sentiment from another Aall&Create stamp set (#255 Bird Lover).
I really enjoyed creating this bright and bold card for this challenge. I hope you like my take on this week's challenge and have been inspired to create something beautiful.

Deckchair Stripes And Sunny Spots

Good morning and welcome back to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. This weeks challenge is set by DT member Kathy and its called:

Deckchair Stripes and Sunny Spots

Just the sound of that makes me smile as it says summer time, fun and holidays to me. I hope we see the return of some summer weather soon rather than rain everyday.

For my card I created an inky background with my distress oxides using some  bright colours and applying them in random areas. I die cut lots of different sized circles on a separate piece of card and then mounted it on top of the inked background. This just allows some of the colours to show through the circles. I then coloured and fussy cut my cute elephant image from the Hey Cutie stamp set by Tracey Hey. I mounted the image onto a striped piece of card and added my sentiment from the Mwah stamp set also by Tracey. I just love how this card turned out all bright and summery, absolutely loved this challenge.

July's Elemental Inspirational Challenge

Hello and welcome back to my blog for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge. It's the first Friday of the month which means its the July Elemental Inspirational Challenge. This week Svenja has set the mood-board with some vibrant toned colours and lots of different elements. The challenge is to choose three elements from the mood-board for your project. Remember choosing a colour also counts as one element.

For my project, I chose three elements: The Eiffel Tower, Tickets and a bulldog clip.

I started by layering some patterned papers from the Scrapmir Charming collection. I then cut out one of the toppers with The Eiffel Tower and adhered that at an angle. I arranged some of the paper flowers embellishments and a ticket which is held on by the bulldog clip. I cut and shaped the wings of a butterfly and added that to my focal point. I placed an epoxy sticker sentiment and tied a piece of ribbon onto one side of the card. To finish it off, I added some silver gems.
